Let's start with the body

Every runner has strengths and gaps. We test for both.

Your Performance Score shows how your body handles impact (Absorb), returns energy (Bounce), and stays stable through movement (Stability). We assess this through controlled strength and movement tests, treadmill footage, and force analysis.

  • Absorb: How well your joints and muscles reduce impact. When you lack shock absorption, you feel it in your joints, shins, or lower back—especially on longer runs or harder surfaces.
  • Bounce: The force your body can create and transfer forward. A low bounce score means you're working harder to maintain pace, burning more energy, and struggling to pick up speed when you need it.
  • Stability: How well you control and align your movement. Weakness here shows up as fatigue, tightness, or breakdown in form—especially when you're tired or on uneven terrain.

Each shoe carried at RunAsYouAre is graded by how much it helps with shock absorption, energy return, or control. That means we only match you with shoes based on what your body actually needs, not just what feels good at the moment.

  • Shoes that absorb: Soft foams, wider platforms, and rocker geometry help reduce impact. These are your go-to for long runs, recovery days, or when you need extra cushioning.
  • Shoes that bounce: High rebound foams and stiff carbon plates return energy to your stride. These help you run faster, maintain pace, and push harder when you need speed.
  • Shoes that stabilize: Tuned midsole geometry, wider bases, and secure heel counters keep your stride consistent. Important for trail runs, technical terrain, or when fatigue causes form breakdown.
